Discussion outline

Report from the Department Coordinator

  • The group discussed the current time/date schedule of the Departmental Meeting. An email survey has been used to collect preferences.

  • Harald suggests the usage of the comment box when submitting a test result via the Issue Tracker in order to provide useful information about the executed tests and the user environment. The group proposed the adoption of a standard template to guide users. Further tests in this direction will be done. https://docs.joomla.org/Testing_Joomla!_patches#Recording_test_results

  • Maintainers should check if test coverage is adequate prior to merge a Pull Request.

  • Harald proposed the creation of a more complete procedure manual for CMS Release Team in order to improve the quality of releases.

  • George proposed to create two sets of automated tests: one for every Pull Request and one executed only once a release is triggered. This would improve the quality of releases and the speed of tests execution at every PR. The group discussed current test coverage. Further research will be done on this.
